This immersive experience brings healthcare professionals into community-led maternal health spaces in Antigua and Lake Atitlán, where we learn directly from Maya midwives, local organizations, and women working to support mothers and families.
The week is designed to offer both deep learning and meaningful rest—returning home with a renewed lens for how we care for patients and build trust in our communities.
What you’ll experience in Guatemala:
Spend a week between Antigua, Xela, and Lake Atitlán learning how culture shapes pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care.
Conversations with Maya midwives and maternal health leaders
Workshops on traditional postpartum practices and plant medicine
Cultural experiences, including a Mayan cooking class
Time to reflect, rest, and connect with fellow healthcare professionals
Optional CME credits
